When a user tries to open or synchronize the corrupt OST file in MS Outlook he may face various confusing errors like
1.Emails in exchange mailbox are deleted by mistake
2.Transition the Outlook OST to PST file
3.Microsoft exchange is currently in recovery mode
4.Oversized OST file exceeding the 2 GB limit
The errors might be different but the common problem before the user would be that he won’t be able to access the OST data in the mails, journals, calendars, etc. In such a scenario, he can use the OST Integrity check tool for scanning the OST files.
The OST check tool performs checks on OST file and analyses the synchronization problems associated with it. After scanning the OST files and mailbox it quickly fixes the synchronization differences. Then it jots down the differences in the scan log for furnishing information to the user. The scan log also provides the information about any unresolved issue which can be repaired manually.
For using the tool a user should integrate it with the exchange server from where Mailbox can be scanned. This OST integrity check doesn’t run in the offline mode. These are the steps to use the integrity check tool:
1.Exit the MS Outlook
2.Run and Install the OST Integrity Check tool (Scanost.exe)
3.Open the file from Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE12
4.Enter the profile name which includes the PST file
5.Click connect to the server if a message appears
6.Select the Repair Errors check box
7.Click Begin Scan for diagnosing and rectifying the problems in the OST files
A more simple and effective solution for recovering the OST files is OST 2 PST . This tool converts retrieves the deleted, corrupt and damaged OST files. OST files created with any type of MS Outlook can be retrieved with this tool. It further allows its user to save the OST files into PST, DBX, MSG, or EML format. In just some seconds a user can repair the damaged OST files and retrieve information from them.
